Biography

Culture & Essence Design, founded by Alexander Keith, is an architecture and interior design business devoted to creating beautiful environments that mix elegance and ease, sophistication, and warmth. Alex contributes a particularly honed eye and intuitive grasp of how to construct a coherent point of view via color, form, and pattern to his work, having spent three decades working with various firms in his native countries of New Zealand and Australia. He feels that home, like a well-made wardrobe or a lovely home building, should be a source of delight that makes one feel like the best version of themselves. His objective is to create a very customized atmosphere for each customer.

Alex honed his skills at BCI New Zealand and Civil Contractors New Zealand Inc., two of the country’s leading high-end construction companies, after graduating from The University of Auckland, New Zealand, with a BSc and MSc in Architecture. He also decided to attend The Interior Design Institute – New Zealand. In 2003, he established Culture and Essence Designs and soon built up an excellent portfolio. He’s worked on a number of prominent projects, including large-scale corporate and commercial buildings, modern city flats, and luxury Wellington estates.
